WPLC Leaders presentation is a must for any entrepreneur

This evening Michael Millward the head of the Work Place Learning Centre leadership team addressed a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development meeting of Self Employed HR and training professionals and explained a strategy for how they could earn whilst they slept.

Mr Millward started his presentation by dispelling what he described as the myth that writing books is the best way for a self employed professional to generate a passive income.

Instead Mr Millward explained that there are many other types of products that can be more appealing to a potential customer.

He demonstrated this with the range of posters created by Adam Woodall and the team at environmental awareness training consultancy PeopleProfitPlanet, which are available exclusively from Work Place Learning Centre.

The key he said is not just to build a high level of knowledge and expertise, but to be recognised by the wider business community as someone with a high level of expertise, then you have to create versions of your knowledge that potential clients can buy into at various different price points.

Even then creating a passive revenue stream can require a significant investment in time and resources including money. It is not a strategy to be undertaken lightly.

Every year Work Place Learning Centre is approached by self employed professionals who believe that they have created a product that no business can do without. Unfortunately they have done very little research, and generally believe that their product is worth more than companies are likely to be willing to pay for it.

Mr Millward showed two products that he described as well thought out but lacking a marketing strategy, and a compelling reason to buy, but coming with a hefty price tag. Both products are no longer available.

Mr Millward then introduced Martin Johnson the creator of Big Picture which he described as being quite different. It fits within Martins strategy for his consulting business, has a clear and compelling reason for a company to buy and is available in a number of different formats and price points so that it appeals to a range of customers.

Big Picture First Aid Kid is exclusively available from Work Place Learning Centre.

Afterwards Mervin Straughan a life coach and communications strategist said that any self employed professional who had the opportunity to see the presentation Earn While You Sleep by Michael Millward, should grab it.

“Like a set of traffic lights, Michael's delivery brings his audience to a halt by exploding the myths around entrepreneurship. Next, he encourages us to pause for thought and possibility on amber through a stimulating debate around personal time versus potential income, the value of knowledge and the enormous power of personal branding. After that, you feel the light has just turned green.”
