PeopleProfitPlanet launches environmental posters exclusively on Work Place Learning Centrep

PeopleProfitPlanet, the Leeds based environmental business training consultancy, is celebrating ‘Green Britain Day 2010’ on Thursday 17th June by launching a series of eco-education posters that will be exclusively available from WorkPlaceLearningCentre.co.uk the learning resource web shop for employers.

The posters were created by PeopleProfitPlanet founder Adam Woodall to support the environmental action programmes that the company provides to an extensive range of businesses. They proved so popular that he decided to make them available to a wider audience through workplacelearningcentre.co.uk which is part of Abeceder, the Leeds based employee management company.

“Every employee at every company that we have worked with has been keen to do their bit to help cut carbon emissions and save money” says Adam, “The problem they face is working out what they can do. The posters help to show people how they can make an impact on an individual level.”

The posters feature a happy-go-lucky character and explain the straight-forward things that people can do to make their work place and the way they work a little bit more environmentally friendly.

For example

• If the UK’s 10 million office workers used just one less staple each day 120 tonnes of steel would be saved each year, plus all the associated energy costs
• Reducing the margin on printed documents to 2cm reduces your paper usage by 5percent over the year
• Setting a photocopier to double-sided printing as a default saves 1.5 tonnes of CO2  each year, not to mention the savings in paper and toner
• The same photocopier left on overnight wastes enough energy to make 1,500 A4 copies
• Likewise switching off a computer monitor at night saves enough electricity to toast 20 slices of bread
• Lowering the thermostat by just 1 degree could save 10% of your energy bills

In another innovative move the posters, which are printed on totally recycled paper, are fully customisable and can carry company specific environmental factoids based on existing company performance and their environmental targets.
